Best interior trends for 2018
With the start of a New Year, there often come New Year’s resolutions. As well as vows to eat less and exercise more, home improvement projects also feature highly on the agenda. If you have decided to redecorate in 2018, here are some of this year’s new trends for inspiration:
1. Blocks of colour
This season, colour block shapes are in. Rather than painting a wall in just one shade, this means adding different colours in linear patterns. This could be by using bands of colour or by utilising stencils to create angular designs.
2. Darker shades
Moody shades also feature in this year’s design trends. Dark greys and blues in particular are in fashion with many types of furniture as well as accessories such as rugs being available in these colours. Focal items in the room featuring brighter colours can be used as a dramatic contrast to these darker pieces.
3. Adventurer artefacts
If dark tones are not your thing, then adventurer patterns and prints may be more appealing. Exotic animals and plant life are a common theme for soft furnishing accessories such as cushions where you can choose from stripes and spots to foliage and blooms.
4. Rustic range
Rustic features are also an interior trend in 2018. There are many ways to achieve a rustic feel in the interior of your home. As well as pared back wooden floors, distressed furniture can also create this tone. Mismatched decorative items such as vases can also achieve this look as can wooden accessories.
